Welcome to Week 2 of the Coaching Module: Coaching Short- and Long-Term Goal Setting

Clients come to us because they have some sort of a goal in mind. The problem is that goal is usually vague, at best, in their mind–and they don’t have the skill to articulate the goal and then take defined action toward it. But as effective coaches, we can help them build the skill to set, act on, and achieve fitness goals. That’s what this week is all about.

ACTION STEPS (CHOOSE AT LEAST 3):

  • Practice GAB with at least one client this week
  • Have an End of Phase Chat with a client that’s finishing a program this week
  • Craft a SMARTER goal for yourself
  • Help at least one client craft a SMARTER goal for themselves
  • Outline a structure similar to this but fits your setting that allows you to help clients set, act, and follow-up on goals
