Hello my friends and welcome to our personal development Fall Faction Get Down! It’s an honor to work again with the Faction team!
Who am I? I’m your Personal Growth Ambassador. I’m your Agent of Good Will. I’ve been a Family Therapist for over 15 years. I’ve done crisis response therapeutic work, addictions work, domestic violence work, developmental disabilities work, and have been blending in Strength Coaching over the past 5 years to balance my professional life out as not to become a straight therapy machine.
It’s no secret that our mission in life is to grow toward our fullest potential. My goal here is to present you with material to serve that mission that is always useful, isn’t too stuffy, or overly Guidance Counselor Hallmark mushy mush.
Today’s topic is Self-Care. For common language, we can understand self-care to simply be ‘the act of creating the conditions that produce mental clarity, fullness of heart, or are energizing to the body.’
It’s not exactly a chore, though it can feel that way at times. It may be more useful to think of it as a river that’s always running, always available. We just have to go to it and get in and be diligent! When we blow it off, our energy, relationships, and work pay the price.
This type of work can feel overwhelming if we get too far ahead of ourselves. Take it step by step and let me know how you’re doing.
Watch the video, work that worksheet, and work your plan from there! The thing about self-care is- nobody can do it but you! We’re looking for 1 goal this week that leads to trying 1 new strategy to raise your game in 1 area of your life. No problem!
